My latest swap package was wonderful, all the way from Iowa, USA. I have actually swapped with diane's daughter before swapping with her. the swap is "a little fabric a little chocolate". the swapping on Flickr is fantastic. i cannot believe the beautiful packages i receive each month, and really from total strangers. i suppose its the modern day version of a pen pal. the fabric i received is "be merry by riley blake", it is a christmas fabric, but not in traditional colours. which is a nice change from the usual red, green and white. i will make a few nice little "babys first christmas" cushions and little stockings with these, for the shop.
i have completed another doll, a wee friend for flora. she is very pretty and her name is isabella maggie. she is all in pink with pink hair, a tizzy girl she is. i will upload a photo next time of her. i dont have any orders at the moment so time to catch up on my christmas sewing. i have already prepared some designs for hand stitching, so im kind of half way there on some of the designs.
i have been talking to my son in Scotland about the scots language. its funny when we were growing up we were encouraged to not speak it. it was considered slang, "but it wisnae it wis scots". it is coming back into vogue, and i love it! you should visit the website www.scotslanguage.com you can listen to some of the audio, its great fun and really made me laugh! and even for me i had to really listen to understand. they have a word of the day as well, and some words i remember from my childhood. as a lot of the words have died out. its great and i am really into it at the moment. sewing and scotland two of my passions, braw!
